i'm so sick of being called an Indian. it may be my religion, but it's not my home, it's not my country. in my country i'm a nigger. in my country nigger is not an offensive word, it's fact. i hate being put into a category i don't belong in! and when people actually know where i come from, and they say an nigger or black person, they go- OMG! i'm so sorry. as if i care, i'm proud of who i am and i want people to understand to. i mean i'm gonna be offended if some random comes up to me and calls me a nigger, but people that i know, not so much. next time i introduce myself, i'm gonna say "hi, i'm leesha, your South African, homie, nigger friend." haha, i can't wait to see that persons face.
now i'm gonna say this once- I'M LEESHA, I HAVE AN INDIAN BACKGROUND, BUT I'M PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN, NO MATTER WHERE I LIVE!!
South African national anthem:
Nkosi sikelel' iAfrika
Maluphakanyisw' uphondo lwayo,
Yizwa imithandazo yethu,
Nkosi sikelela, thina lusapho lwayo.
Morena boloka setjhaba sa heso,
O fedise dintwa la matshwenyeho,
O se boloke, O se boloke setjhaba sa heso,
Setjhaba sa South Afrika - South Afrika.
Uit die blou van onse hemel,
Uit die diepte van ons see,
Oor ons ewige gebergtes,
Waar die kranse antwoord gee,
Sounds the call to come together,
And united we shall stand,
Let us live and strive for freedom,
In South Africa our land.
this is my pledge to my land. the soil i grew up on. all it's people are my family. it is my land and always will be!
